Wrapping up the fall high school sports season

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Athletic Director Jeremy Barkey for this list of fall sports honors and awards.)

FOOTBALL:
The Bulldogs won the SEC White for the 11th time in 14 years. The team also qualified for the playoffs for the 14th straight year.  This is the 6th longest streak in state history.

BOY’S SOCCER:
Three Chelsea Bulldogs received 1st team All-League honors. They were Ryan Hilbert, Luke Heumann, and Blake Salgat. Hilbert also earned 2nd team All-State recognition.

BOY’S CROSS COUNTRY:
In addition to winning a regional championship, this year’s team finished 6th in the state. Jacob Stubbs and Austin Horn were all state runners who had outstanding seasons. The team also made its 11th straight state finals appearance, which is among the best in the state.

GIRL’S CROSS COUNTRY:
We had two girls earn regional medals to lead the team to a qualifying position for the state meet Artemis Eyster and Maegen Hopkins. They finished 3rd and 9th respectively to make the all-region team.

GIRL’S GOLF:
This year’s team won the Regional Championship, while individually, Gabby Triveline earned All-State recognition for a 4th consecutive year.

GIRL’S SWIMMING:
Our team was well-represented at the State meet this fall. The young ladies who earned this right were Maddie Doman, Jillian Dixon, Talia Dyerly, River Jensen, Katie Olsen, Sydney HodelWilhelmina Francisco and Hannah Mahalak.

BOY’S TENNIS:
Two Bulldog doubles teams capitalized on home court advantage for the Regional tournament this year gaining State Qualifier status for their team. The championship pairs were Brett Argir/Jayden Sweeny and Mike Varner/Brett Bowersox.

VOLLEYBALL:
This year’s squad were champions of their District Tournament after putting together a week of outstanding play in Napoleon at the end of their season.
