Calling all young cowgirls and cowboys, there’s a new section of Mule Skinner Boot Shop devoted to you and it’s called Young Buckeroo’s.
When Ellen Dewey was hired by Bill and Pam Conn at Mule Skinner Boots two months ago, she brought a new marketing degree and new ideas with her.
In fact, it was at Dewey’s suggestion that the 40-year-old business expand their well-known inventory to include items for a younger clientele. After all, the Chelsea area is rich in youth who are involved in 4-H and equestrian sports, camping, farming, hiking, and well, a love for all things western.
So, on Friday May 16, Mule Skinner’s newest downstairs retail space opened for business in its 118 South Main St. location.
“It’s really cute and was designed by Ellen,” Pam Conn says of the new area specifically geared toward toddlers, children and youth.
The bright and cheery space is filled with boots, hats, toy guns and holsters, belts, chaps and vest sets — everything needed to smartly outfit a young cowgirl or cowboy or little buckeroo.
The boots are in toddler’s sizes 4 to 8.5, children’s sizes 9 to 2.5 and youth sizes 3.5 to 7. And all of them are under $70 and come in multiple colors from pink to red to blue and even cammo.
All the boots are leather with rubber soles Dewey says.
Little Buckeroo’s store hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon-4 on Sunday.
