Zou Zou’s Cafe and Coffee Bar is now serving beer and wine, and selections will include rotating taps of Michigan micro-brews (and hard cider) and select French wines based on availability.

“We have talked about adding beer and wine for a long, long time,”says owner Marie-Ann Fody in a press release.

“We were finally approved by the city as part of our recent expansion and our license just came after the holidays,” she says.

To accommodate an expected increase in evening traffic, Zou Zou’s will also be expanding its menu with the addition a several new small plates. New items will pair well with the wine selections being offered.

In addition, weekend entertainment will be expanding thanks to the help of local musician and music promoter Annie Capps. “We are booking local acts Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights,” says Fody. “Annie is an incredible resource and is so well connected in the music scene, besides being a part of some amazing music acts herself. And, we hope to be able to tap into the talent pool of local high school musicians as well.”

The beer lineup will fluctuate based on seasonal availability.

The initial lineup includes: Bell’s Two Hearted (voted the #1 micro brew in the country, AHA “Best Beers in America, 2017), Dark Horse Amber Ale, Dark Horse Oil of Gladness, Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale, New Holland Dragon’s Milk, Founder’s Breakfast Stout, Jolly Pumpkin Calabaza Blanca, North Peak Murky Oat IPA, Sierra Rose Cider, Short’s Soft Parade, Wolverine Premium Lager, and Wolverine Barista Coffee Lager.

Flights will be available to sample several choices.

“We invite everyone to come in and see what’s on tap at ‘The Zou’,” says Fody.

Zou Zou’s is located at 101 Main St.
