5 candidates file for 3 seats in Chelsea City Council election

Two of the three incumbent Chelsea City Council Members whose seats are up in November — Jane Pacheco and Frank Hammer — have filed for reelection in  the Nov. 3 non-partisan council race.

Pacheco was the first candidate to file on Friday and Hammer was among the last, submitting his paperwork yesterday afternoon.

In addition, Jan Bernath, Peter Feeney and Tony Iannelli have also filed making it a five-way race for the three seats currently held by Rod Anderson, Hammer and Pacheco.

Anderson said previously if qualified residents ran he would not file for reelection after serving eight years on the City Council.

The candidates have until July 24 at 4 p.m. to withdraw from the race and the deadline for any write-in candidates is Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.

  1. I need information on Tony Iannelli and Peter Feeney to inform myself before I vote on November 3. My only source seems to be the Sun Times, if they run a story with the candidates comments about what they think they can contribute. Help.
