5 Healthy Towns Winter Wellness Photo Challenge Underway

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Matt Pegouskie for the information in this story.)

Are you a winter warrior? Do you enjoy skating, skiing, walking or biking all winter long? Does your running club or ice hockey team embrace the winter weather and carry on?

If so, 5 Healthy Towns Foundation wants to showcase your creative talents and highlight what our community members do in the winter to promote physical activity.

We invite all 5 Healthy Towns residents who embrace the winter elements to help us demonstrate that Michigan winters offer a great opportunity to promote wellness outdoors. Grab your phone or camera and submit your photo to the Winter Wellness Photo Challenge. You will be eligible to win a gift card and feature your photo in our Fall 2021 issue of Connected Magazine.

Send us a photo image between Jan. 1-31, 2021. Submission guidelines and an image consent release form can be found at www.5healthytowns.org. Winners will be announced in February, 2021.

5HF’s Community Advisory Committee will select two photo winners:

  • Best Photo (Adult Category) – if you are age 18 and older, submit a photo that shows winter wellness.
  • Best Photo (Youth Category) – if you are 17 and younger, submit a photo that shows winter wellness.

Our 5HF community members will select the overall winner by voting on Facebook in February:

  • People’s Choice Award (youth or adult) – The People’s Choice award will provide an opportunity for our communities to weigh in on their favorite photos.  Submitted photos will be placed on the 5 Healthy Towns Facebook page to allow our followers a chance to choose the best of the best.

For more information, contact 5 Healthy Towns Foundation staff, Matt Pegouskie, or Lori Kintz, at 734-433-4599.
