Don your Kentucky Derby hat for Ladies Day at the Chelsea Community Fair Aug. 24

File photo. Ladies Day crowd.

This year, Ladies Day has the theme of “Off to the Races, the Kentucky Derby.”

Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear Derby hats. Plus, there will be a special drawing for all the ladies who participate wearing their favorite Derby hat. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the program begins at 9 a.m. in the Multipurpose Building. It’s a time for old friends, close friends and multiple generations of ladies to meet for a morning of fun.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the fair queen contestants before they compete at 7 p.m. Friday night.

This annual event is always a ladies favorite and is filled with laughter, music, and goodie bags for the first 275 registrants 18 years and older.

Plus, throughout the program, which also recognizes the homemaker and junior homemaker of the fair, there are multiple drawings for wonderful items donated by local merchants.

Remember, there’s a $5 admission for ladies before noon and lines form early outside the building doors.
