Counting down to fair: City Council approves road closures for the parade

The Chelsea City Council recently approved a number of annual temporary road closures for the Kiddie Parade on Aug. 20 and floats, fair participants on Aug. 24 for these fun Chelsea Community Parade events.

For the Kiddie Parade on Aug. 20:

West Middle Street will be closed between Main and Grant streets from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Grant Street will be closed between West Middle and Pierce streets from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Taylor Street will be closed between Old US-12 and Pierce Street from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Pierce Street will be closed between Grant and Taylor streets from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

And as the children on bikes make their way to the Chelsea fairgrounds, Old Manchester Road will be closed from Old US-12 to the fairgrounds’ south entrance will be closed from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

On fair parade day, Aug. 24:

East Street will be closed between East Middle and Washington Street from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

East Middle Street will be closed between Main and East Street from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Taylor Street will be closed between Old US-12 and Moore Drive will be closed from noon to 3:30 p.m.

West Middle Street will be closed between Main and Grant streets from noon-2:30 p.m.

Can’t wait for both festivities to begin.
