The 39th Annual Sounds and Sights Festival is seeking regional artists and crafts people of outstanding quality for its juried Chelsea Art Market which will take place July 24-25, which takes place downtown.

The Chelsea Art Market is an indie arts and crafts fair coinciding with a variety of festivities and attractions associated with the Chelsea Sounds and Sights Festival. The two-day, three-night festival draws over 15,000 visitors annually and features national and regional live music acts, local food and brew, a sculpture walk and activities for the entire family.

The festival begins the evening of Thursday, July 23 with the Chelsea Art Market running Friday and Saturday, July 24-25 from noon- 8 p.m.

“Over the past two years we have redefined the Chelsea Art Market by selecting artists who brought more than their merchandise to sell, they brought young energy and lots of fresh ideas,” said Patti Schwarz, art market program coordinator and director of River Gallery + Exhibits.

“The results have been outstanding and with so many artists wanting to return this year, we are growing the event by adding more booths, more artist demonstrations, and a larger variety of affordable goods,” said Schwarz.

The Art Market is a juried event limited to 50 local and regional arts and crafts people of exceptional quality. Artists willing to demonstrate their processes are also highly sought. Booth fee is $100 for the weekend. Demonstrating artists participate for the reduced rate of $50.
