7th grade gold volleyball

7th grade gold volleyball fought hard this weekend at a round robin tournament in Jackson.

The team played Jackson, Saline, and Dexter and won two of its three games. The Bulldogs defeated Jackson all three matches and stomped Dexter two out of the three matches.

Morgan Grim, Ella Gietzen, and Peyton Myers all had great hits. Lilly Nielsen rocked her serves in games two and three and served over 15 aces.

Gianna Barney and Abria Eckert also had great serves and some great digs throughout all games. Vivian Parker had three great sets and Ava Skrypec, Sophia Stanavich, and Tess Gerstler also all had great digs and net play throughout the tournament.

7th grade blue volleyball

The Beach Middle School 7th grade volleyball teams had their annual volleyball jamboree this weekend in Jackson.

7Blue gained valuable experience as they participated in 3 matches; match one was against their local rival Dexter. The Dawgs fought hard and although they fell short in set one and two, they captured the win for set 3. Amazing serving was seen again by Anastasia Moser as she placed over 10 serves in a row in the 3rd set. Kylee Koester, Kaylin Schroeder, and Maddie Hedding also had good passing.

Next, the Bulldogs took on Blue Saline Hornets and battled hard winning the second set and having close scores for set one and three. Excitement as they rallied back and forth with Brooke Barlage being a leading server. Good consistent hitting was seen by Audrey McCarley and Madi Wheeler, Eleanor Hoonhurst, and Charlie Schmunk had good play at the net.

Finally, Chelsea competed hard versus the fierce Gold Saline Hornets in a third match; they took one set but lost the match. Calli Chapman, Cece O’Rouke, Melina King, Anna Irwin, Evie Potacki, Brooke Hurst and Macaela Webber all helped with the competitive final match of the day with their passing and setting over the net. All matches had scores that were very close and the growth is seen weekly by this team.
