The Beach Cross Country Team blew the competition out of the water this weekend at the Hudson Invitational.

The boys took home the first place trophy beating out 21 other teams. The girls also earned a first place trophy by beating 19 other teams.  Over a hilly course on a cold and windy day, Michael Bolt and Gabe Gasbarre knocked over a minute off their season best times. For the ladies, 12 runners ran their fastest race of the season with both Abby Robbins and Hailey Neal cutting over 40 seconds off their PRs.

The 8th grade girls blue volleyball team held their own on Saturday at Saline Middle School. The girls showed up revved and ready to play. Every player was a huge contributor to our success both on the court and from the bench. The team ended up with a record of 3-4.

The Bulldogs beat Ypsilanti during both matches. Leading the team was Madeleine Kennedy with 14 service points. Marissa Fredette and Kennedi Riecks played the best defense they have all season. Cassidy Kunzelman had her best games as well on Saturday, her serves and hits were on point along with her ability to move to the ball. Stephanie Dark continued to show her talents to be a team player who motivates and encourages her teammates. In all of the matches she played aggressive defense both serving and receiving. She earned many points for the team overall.

The second team we played was Monroe. The first game we lost 17-25 but the second match was a different story. The team was determined to win and they did 25-20. The girls had amazing communication and pumped each other up. They were unstoppable. Between the two games Madeleine Kennedy had 11 service points, along with some incredible defensive blocks and tips/spikes. Hayley Townsend had 5 service points. Mallory Stribe had 4 service points. Ali Boham had many tips that lead to points. Peyton Lajiness had some great spikes. Madeline Dapprich had repeated tips that Monroe could not return. Angelia Daman finished the game with the final spike to seal the deal for the bulldogs.

The third and fourth game was Bedford (Red and White) team. Madeleine Kennedy had 10 service points. Mallory Stribe had 8 service points. Emily Savery saved the day multiple times in the back row with some deep, hard serves right to her. The Bulldogs fought the good fight and we ended on a happy note, landing in the Gold Bracket of the tournament.
