‘Beauty and Pain’: a benefit for the Sanville Family

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Brad Phillips for the information in this story.)

Nancee’s Network presents an evening of performances in support of Nancee Sanville, her husband Guy, and their daughter, Rose as they bravely continue their fight against cancer.

Friends of the Sanville family are producing a show on March 5 at 7 p.m. at The Purple Rose Theatre Company to raise funds for the Sanville Family. The show, which is directed by Brad Phillips, Michelle Mountain, Lauren Mounsey and Tom Whalen, brings together popular Michigan musicians The Sweetwater Warblers (Rachael Davis, May Erlewine and Lindsay Lou), Brad Phillips, and Purple Rose Resident Artists featuring an evening of music, theatre, poetry and dance.

Nancee Sanville is a light to all she knows: generous, caring, funny and a fighter. After battling stage 3 ovarian cancer for nearly two years, Nancee’s body has become weary of the chemotherapy, and she will soon begin seeking alternative therapies, none of which are covered by insurance. The night’s proceeds will support the family as they pursue these treatments and help ease their financial burden while lifting their spirits.

“Nancee is a bright light of a human being.  She has shared and spread so much love, kindness, and warmth with the world,” says director Brad Phillips, whose 3-year-old daughter is a cancer survivor.

“Cancer is a horrible, destructive illness that disrupts every aspect of life. It is in times like this that we must support our neighbors in our community. Even in darkness and pain, there is beauty to be found in the love of our friends,” he said.

Please join us as we share an evening that promises to uplift everyone.

Tickets are $50, and proceeds go directly to the family. Tickets are available in advance starting Wednesday, Feb. 7 at: https://nanceesnetwork.brownpapertickets.com/

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show time is 7 p.m. and a reception will follow.
