Sam Vogel, superintendent of the Children’s Parade, has conferred with Chelsea Police Chief Ed Toth, and both agree that due to the threat of severe weather, the annual Children’s Parade has been cancelled.
The event was scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m. and it looks as if the storms may hit while the parade is en route to the fairgrounds.
Although disappointing, both agreed that the safety of the children on bikes is most important.
