Chelsea American Legion Post 31 thanks the community

A scene from the annual July 4 Chelsea American Legion chicken BBQ

The Chelsea American Legion Post 31 would like to thank the community for its support of the annual July 4 chicken BBQ.

Legion member Craig Maier said all the chicken was sold out by 3 p.m. despite two different storms that blew through during the day.

“We’d like to thank the community for their continued support of this annual fundraising event,” he said.

Folks came out “to make it a success despite some inclement weather and the event came off very well,” he said.

Proceeds from the event benefit local veterans and programs.
