Chelsea Area Fire Authority: new Lima substation coming

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority (CAFA) board met on Tuesday morning, May 20, and the main topic of discussion was the status of the proposed fire substation in Lima Township.

CAFA has a tentative lease from the owner of the building, but due to concerns voiced by the board about the language covering repairs and maintenance of the property, as well as the lack of an early termination clause, the lease will be amended.

It is expected that the revised lease will be approved and signed by the CAFA board at its next meeting on June 17.

The board also approved a formal inspection of the building at a cost not to exceed $1,000.
