Chelsea Community Center ‘Summer Days’ activities

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Andrew Thomson for the information in this story.)

If you are looking for affordable options to keep yourself and your kids active this summer, check out the Chelsea Community Center Summer Days at the Washington Street Education Center.

From June 18 through Aug. 17 (9 weeks) you can enjoy open gym, a teen tech café, and special programs from 2-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For only $50 per person or $100 per household, you can enjoy access to all these programs throughout the summer.

Included in the pass fee will be open swim on Friday evenings at Beach Middle School.

The Chelsea Community Center Summer Days is a collaboration between multiple community partners including Chelsea Community Education, Chelsea Senior Center, Community Center Exploratory Committee, 4-H program, Chelsea District Library, and local businesses.

These organizations will provide fun programs for people of all ages including technology demos, cooking classes, and hands-on projects like making paracord bracelets and school locker decorations.

A weekly listing of special programs will be posted on the Chelsea Community Education website at https://sites.google.com/a/chelsea.k12.mi.us/communityeducation/home/community-center.

Scholarships are available for families with free or reduced lunches.  Please contact the Chelsea Community Education office at 433-2208 or email: [email protected]
