In 2012, CEF helped make more than 50 students’ dreams of pursuing a college education come true via awards of over $20,000 in scholarships. These students are pursuing degrees in engineering, nursing, teaching, business, and other fields. They range from young adults just graduating from Chelsea High School to non-traditional students seeking a career change in a difficult economic environment.

CEF provides funding for a wide spectrum of educational activities to benefit the residents of Chelsea.

Organized in 1991, CEF is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that was created to provide a link between school, business and community to help strengthen Chelsea’s future.

Contributions to CEF are invested in scholarships to area college students, grants to teachers and others with great ideas, and sponsorship of community forums on important topics.

Over the course of its history, CEF has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in these worthy endeavors. The board counts among its membership: local business owners, Board of Education members, school administration and staff, and area residents. The board is committed to making sure that Chelsea remains a fertile ground for learning.
