Chelsea Firefighters and Community Give Back

Chelsea firefighters spent Dec. 23 ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and collecting donations for Faith in Action outside Polly’s Country Market.

More than $2,000 was collected for the for Salvation Army and that much or more in food for Faith in Action.

“Our community’s Red Bucket always ranks near the top in Washtenaw County,” said Tom Osborne, chairman of the Chelsea Area Fire Authority Board.

“The generosity is always amazing but never a surprise,” he said.

Chelsea Area Fire Authority will continue to accept non-perishable food donations for Faith in Action at Fire Station 1 at 200 W. Middle St until Jan 1.

“Again, thank you to all the firefighters that gave their time to help our community and those in need and thanks to Polly’s for giving us space to do this,” he said.
