Chelsea Lacrosse recap

(Chelsea Update would like to thank coach Joe Koengeter for the information in this story.)

Chelsea lacrosse began its season on March 27 with a home contest against Lansing Waverly and lost 15-2.

Box score:
Chelsea: 0 in 1st, 1 in 2nd, 1 in 3rd, 0 in 4th
Waverly: 5 in 1st, 1 in 2nd, 4 in 3rd, 5 in 4th

Cameron Breining and Sam Peterson scored the goals for Chelsea while Nate Bero and Doug Zarinnia had assists. Josh Ciaccio had 10 saves in goal.

Lansing Waverly came out fast and continued the pace throughout the game. The defense started to play well in the second quarter only allowing one goal. After halftime, the speed of the Waverly team proved to be the difference in the game closing the door from the second quarter momentum we hoped to ride into the second half.

On March 29, the Bulldogs traveled to West Bloomfield and came home with a 16-4 victory, evening their record at 1-1.

Box score:
Chelsea: 7 in 1st, 3 in 2nd, 3 in 3rd, 3 in 4th
W Bloomfield: 0 in 1st, 2 in 2nd, 0 in 3rd, 2 in 4th

Cameron Breining, Mikal Nelson, and Doug Zarinna had multi-goal games while Sam Peterson, Aidan Kurth, Nick Whitesall, and Aidan Boote each added goals.  Both Josh Ciaccio and Brad Fischer had 3 saves in goal each.

We came out strong and played good defense in the first quarter holding West  Bloomfield scoreless. Offensively, we moved the ball well and were able to tally seven goals taking control of the game.

Brad Fischer saw his first varsity action in goal giving up 2 goals on 5 shots.
