Chelsea’s Hometown Holiday Friday night in photos

A live nativity complete with animals was just one of the many events during the first night of Hometown Holiday.
A live nativity complete with animals was just one of the many events during the first night of Hometown Holiday.

About 100 people were on hand for the annual tree lighting Friday night at Pierce Park, which kicked off Hometown Holiday.

They enjoyed a performance of the Chelsea High School Men’s Choir, watched as the 2013 Chelsea Community Fair Queen Morgan Kern did the honors of lighting the city’s tree and cheered as Santa Claus arrived in a decorated fire engine.

And that was just the start of Friday’s Hometown Holiday events.

Please enjoy a photo gallery below of some of the many events that kicked off the first day of Chelsea’s special three-day Hometown Holiday. And be sure to enjoy the many events planned for today, including the Light Parade, which begins at 6 p.m.
