Michael O’Quinn has 25 years of experience as a business owner and entrepreneur, which he considers to be a great advantage for his job as a financial advisor at Edward Jones Investments, located at 1100 S. Main St. in Chelsea.
O’Quinn’s job is to help his clients design, implement, and monitor personalized financial plans in order to achieve financial goals.
“My job as a financial advisor is deeply rewarding as I get to walk through life with my clients, help them work through tough times, and be a part of celebrating important achievements and milestones,” said O’Quinn.
“I have developed an appreciation for, and a unique insight into the demands that business owners face. My clients benefit from my broad-based perspective and real-world business experience,” he said.
O’Quinn enjoys working with his team at Edward Jones Investments, including his long-time business partner, Amber Koch, who serves as office administrator, lifelong Chelsea resident Kathy Powers, and his wife of 28 years, Ginni O’Quinn.
Working in the Chelsea community has been key in helping to shape O’Quinn’s character.
“I grew up in Chelsea and have lived in this community most of my life,” he said, adding that he is a Chelsea High School graduate, earned an MBA from Eastern Michigan University, maintains an AAMS® designation, and is a CERTIFIED FINANANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
“I have chosen to raise my family here. I feel compelled to support and give back to our community, as Chelsea is my home. I cannot think of a better place to work than in my hometown. It’s rewarding to advise and serve others, including old classmates, teammates from high school sports, 4-H members from my youth, church friends, business owners that I have done business with through the years, and all those that have been a part of my life.”
The O’Quinns have three children, two adult sons and a 16-year-old daughter. He spends his free time traveling with his family and is an avid outdoorsman.
O’Quinn has served as a field trainer for financial advisors during his years at Edward Jones, has held several leadership positions, and has been recognized by his firm for exceptional achievement in building client relationships. He and Amber Koch became Limited Partners of Edward Jones in 2018.
