For the 17th consecutive year, Chelsea High School has student athletes who are headed to play football in college.

Tyler Eckler signed a letter of intent to attend Carnegie Mellon University and Shon Kuhn is headed to Grand Valley State University.

“Tyler is such a tremendous student and Carnegie Mellon has a tremendous engineering department. Tyler is very good at math and science,” said Chelsea High School Varsity Football Coach Brad Bush.

The coach said Eckler, a three-year starter, is a “tremendous leader both off and on the football field.”

“Shon, too, is a very good student,” Bush said, adding, “He’ll have a great career there.”

Kuhn, the coach said, “played both sides of the ball and has great potential.”

“I’m excited for both of them; they are great representatives for our program,” Bush said.
