Feb. 5-7: Chelsea American Legion Post 31’s 44th Annual Winter Carnival

This weekend, the American Legion Post 31 will host their 44th Annual Winter Carnival beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5 and the kitchen and bar will be open.

Friday, at 7 p.m., the popular Euchre Tournament starts and there is a $10 entry fee. You must be 18 years old to enter the tournament, which takes place at the Legion building at 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.

On Saturday, Feb. 6, beginning at 7 a.m. until noon, breakfast will be served. Also scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., is the fishing derby, which is weather dependent. Fishing Derby staff will check ice conditions determine the safety of the ice before it begins. The derby is scheduled to last until 5 p.m.

From noon to 3 p.m., there will be a Michigan wine tasting and at 7:30 until 11 p.m., Star 69, a live band, will play.

On Sunday, breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. until noon and if weather conditions are safe, the fishing derby will take place from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Prizes are expected to be presented at 2 p.m.

The popular kids’ carnival will take place from noon until 2 p.m. with games, food and prizes.

The raffle drawing will take place at 3 p.m. and the carnival ends.

Food and beverages will be served all day while the carnival is open.
