The fair takes place from Aug. 21-25 so, here are a few things to get you started as the August countdown begins.

On Sunday, Aug. 19, green barn entries such as flowers and needlepoint, cakes and canning, vegetables, photography and artwork, will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., so now’s the time to start getting your entries together.

From agriculture to antiques, baking, canning, floriculture, arts and photography, machine sewing and needlework, the barn will be buzzing as entrants arrive throughout the day to enter their handiwork and superintendents and volunteers properly tag the items and handle the paperwork.

For a fair book that explains the rules and regulations for entries and classes as well as a complete schedule of events, go to www.chelseafair.org.

And, there’s also a tractor deadweight pull in the Main Arena beginning at 9 a.m. Spectators should enter through the main gate only for this event.
