You may want to arrive at the Chelsea Saturday Farmers Market when it opens at 8 a.m. this Saturday (and every Saturday) because that’s the time when the selection is best at the Goetz Family Farm stand.

The Centennial Farm located in Riga, Mich., is owned by Jon and Karlene Goetz. Their son, Luke, his wife Sally, and their children Sonja and Alex, are the vendors, who always have plenty of cut flowers and potted flowers for sale.

The farm has grown vegetables for 40 years and uses many organic practices and offers a CSA. This week they’ll have corn, tomatoes, lettuces, squash, cucumbers, onions, green beans, and eggplant for sale.

You’ll also find honey, jam, eggs, breads, meat and cheese at the market this week.

B and R Railroad will provide the entertainment. At the kids tent, the subject will be “All about iron.”

The market runs from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and is located in the municipal parking lot by the library along Park Street.
