Long-time Ann Arbor writer and University of Michigan lecturer Frances Kai-Hwa Wang will be reading from her new book, You Cannot Resist Me When My Hair Is in Braids at Serendipity Books on June 28 at 7 p.m.
With an emphasis on local spots many of us will recognize, this is a mischievous and fierce collection of lyric essays and prose poems that deftly navigates the space between cultures, punctuated by wise children, assertive aunties, unreliable suitors, and an uncertain political landscape that is Asian America.
