Lima Township is in the process of expanding its Neighborhood Watch program and has scheduled two meetings where residents can learn more about the program.
“The township wants to increase awareness of its neighborhood watch program and encourage residents to learn more about the program and how they can get involved,” says Bill Coury, the neighborhood watch coordinator for the Jackson Road area neighborhood watch.
He, with the help of Supervisor Craig Maier, have planned two meetings, one in August and one in September, to explain the program to residents.
The first meeting is planned for Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Moose Lodge at 10160 Jackson Road. Although it’s a block captain’s meeting, anyone in the township is invited to attend.
Then on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at Lima Township Hall, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Officers will be in attendance to answer questions about the program.
Meetings last about an hour and a half, Coury says.
