Local resident Loren Heller was recently honored by the Washtenaw County Farm Bureau at its annual meeting for his many years of service as a local auctioneer.
Steven Thelen, WCFB president, said the recognition was “for his many years of dedicated service as the livestock auctioneer for hundreds of kids at so many community fairs over the years.”
He was awarded the Meritorious Service to Agriculture Award.
In accepting the award, Heller thanked the WCFB for the recognition and talked about how much he has enjoyed his role, especially when he’s out and about in the community and kids and adults recognize him as ‘Mr. Auctioneer’ and express their appreciation for what he does.
