Mark your calendar now: Ballet Chelsea presents The Nutcracker in December

nutcracker-posterBallet Chelsea is pleased to present its 19th annual performance of The Nutcracker on Dec. 3-4 and 10-11.

This annual production is a full-length, narrated ballet, choreographed by Ballet Chelsea Artistic Director Wendi DuBois. Audiences young and old from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Jackson, Dexter, Saline, Canton, and all over southeastern Michigan return year after year for this family holiday favorite.

Join delighted audiences as accomplished dancers bring this classic story to life. From Christmas Eve festivities at the Stahlbaum’s, complete with godfather Drosselmeier and his charming mechanical dolls, to a fierce midnight battle, and on to the enchanted Kingdom of Sweets, Ballet Chelsea’s dancers captivate audiences of all ages with their energy and artistry.

A special Sugar Plum Tea is offered on Sunday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 12:30 p.m., prior to the 2 p.m. matinee. At each show, the audience can stroll the sparkling Commons during intermission for gourmet chocolates and beverages, and browse our Snow Shop.

Growing every year in popularity, tickets to Ballet Chelsea’s performances of The Nutcracker and the Sugar Plum Tea sell quickly. In response to popular demand, Ballet Chelsea is pleased to have added a second weekend of performances so even more audiences will be able to experience the magic of The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker will be performed at the CHS Performing Arts Complex, 740 N. Freer Road.
