(Chelsea Update would like to thank Kathy Caflin for the information in this story and Waterloo Natural History Association for sponsoring this program.)

Want to learn about Michigan’s snacks then head to the Discovery Center on Sunday, May 1 from 2-3:30 p.m.

Fact or fiction? Learn the truth about the misconceptions that surround these intriguing creatures. Nature Discovery will bring a variety of live snakes and discuss their habits and characteristics. At the end of the program, you will have a chance to handle these surprisingly gentle reptiles and watch them eat.

Cost: $2/person or $5/family.  Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center is at 17030 Bush Road in Sylvan Township.

Advance registration requested at 475-3170.
