May 25: Chelsea’s Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Chelsea’s Annual Memorial Day parade takes place on Monday, May 25 beginning at 10 a.m. and is followed by a traditional ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Parade participants should gather at about 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind Cleary’s Pub.

The parade route goes south on Main Street to Park Street and ends at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Parade watchers line the streets all along the parade route then follow the parade to the cemetery.

This year’s featured speaker is former Army Sgt. 1st Class Mike Wackenhut.

The Memorial Day parade and ceremony is organized by the Herbert J. McKune American Legion Post 31 and all veterans and their families are invited to the post after the ceremony to socialize with other veterans.
