No-Cost Online Matter of Balance Course Starts in June

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Joyce Williams for the information in this story.)

Thinking of gardening and walking outside once the warm weather stays around? The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is hosting an A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls workshop online to help older adults prevent falls and reduce the fear of falling.

This workshop can help you:

Safely increase your physical activity level
Learn practical strategies to manage falls
Make easy changes at home to reduce falls
Improve your balance and flexibility

This eight-week workshop meets weekly over Zoom starting in June. The class requires a computer or other device with internet access and a camera. A meeting link will be sent to registered participants. There is no cost to participate in the workshop but donations are always welcome. Any adult 65 and older in Michigan can join.

Information Session – Thursday, June 2, 2022 – 1-2 p.m.
Eight sessions – Every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on June 9, 16, 23, 30 and July 7, 14, 21, 28
