Phil Boham to speak at Monday Kiwanis Club meeting

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club had a well attended work session at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds where members spruced up the 14-year-old hot dog trailer, which will be at Chelsea Relay for Life today in the parking lot of the new Cancer Center at St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea hospital.

The trailer was power washed, burned out light bulbs were replaced, windows were cleaned and the interior was polished. A gift from the estate of Chelsea resident Elwin Barth in 2001, it has seen many equipment additions and upgrades over the years.

“We thank the community for their ongoing support by purchasing food at the trailer to benefit Chelsea and especially its children,” said Bob Milbrodt.

On Monday, Aug. 10, Phil Boham, Government Relations Liaison with Huron Valley Ambulance, will be the speaker. He will explain his role, in which he primarily meets with municipal leaders of villages, cities and townships served by Huron Valley Ambulance, as well as ambulance service in Jackson, Monroe, and Albion. Each of these are subsidiaries of Emergent Health Partners, the parent organization of Huron Valley Ambulance.

The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.  Everyone is invited to the meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
