Attention cantaloupe and watermelon fans – this is your time of year. Come visit the Chelsea Farmers Market Wednesday for all of your favorite fruits including melons, peaches, cherries, blueberries, and plums.

The selection of vegetables is enormous and includes tomatoes and corn, peppers and onions, salad greens, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, eggplant, cabbage, and much more.

Plants and flowers will also be for sale as well as fresh baked breads, cakes, and cookies and Good Times Kettle Corn.

The Wednesday market runs from 1-5 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot, at 1010 S. Main St., near the corner of Old US-12 and M-52.

There is a new regional (Chelsea, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge) food assistance program to help get healthy market food on the tables of those in need. It’s aimed at folks who don’t quite meet SNAP criteria. Be sure to inquire at the market.

To learn more about what to expect each week at the farmers markets, visit the website at www.chelseafarmersmkt.org, visit the Chelsea Farmers Market Facebook page, or e-mail [email protected].
