Psyched Out: 9 things parents can do for successful kids

By Kristin Krarup-Joyce

Dear Chelsea Community:
I found this really good article entitled “Science Says the Most Successful Kids Have Parents who do These 9 Things”.

I’ve summarized it below:

  1. Don’t tell them they can be anything they want. Instead steer them into well-paying professions where there will be a shortage of workers. (Healthcare and construction trades.)
  2. Eat dinner as a family.
  3. Enforce no screen time.
  4. Work outside the home.
  5. Make them do chores.
  6. Delay gratification
  7. Read to them.
  8. Encourage them to travel.
  9. Let them fail.
