Publisher’s column for Oct. 7-Oct. 13

Cheerleaders of all sizes were on hand at Friday night's football game.

Once again, I’m asking for the community’s help with ideas for a new feature I’d like to start this winter. Because the church community is such a big part of many reader’s lives, if you attend a local church and would like to see it featured on Chelsea Update, I’d like to hear from you.

The plan is a series of stories focusing on what makes your church unique, so I can let readers know about all the wonderful things that each congregation does not only for each other, but also for the community and beyond.

If offered an invitation, I’d like to attend a Sunday service at your church and give readers a glimpse of what makes this community’s churches unique. Plus, I know as we get closer to Christmas, lots of special services, concerts and bazaars are planned. Don’t be shy about letting me know about these events so I can inform the whole community. Please send your ideas to [email protected] or give me a call at 433-1052.

I’m thrilled to announce that Chelsea Update is gaining new advertising support on an almost daily basis, and I can’t thank these businesses enough. In turn, I hope readers will complete the circle, and click on their ads on the far right side of the site. Please, shop locally, and let these business owners know that you saw their ad on Chelsea Update.

In addition, readers can also show their support for this site by contributing to this effort with a check donation/subscription of any amount made out to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118.

  1. Lisa, you’d be welcome any Sunday at our place. We currently meet @ 11AM on Sun., 6:15 Wed.’s (including a free dinner). We are getting ready to launch an 8AM Sun. in Jan. and we are beginning a 5:30 PM Sat. this fall. Grace & Peace, Jeff Crowder

    • Thank you, Jeff. Your church is first on my list of visits and I’ll let you know when I firm up when I’ll start the series.
