Publisher’s message: Chelsea Update’s two-month anniversary

The relaunch of Chelsea Update celebrates two months today and what an exciting, fun, tiring and amazing couple of months it’s been. Wow. I had no idea just how much news is generated by this community on a daily basis.

Most popular with readers this week was a fun little name-the-field-crop story followed closely by business news. Although they don’t show up as individual stories in the daily newsletter, please be sure to check both the police and obituary tabs on the site for new information.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the daily dose of kudos and story ideas — they keep me working hard. The increasing advertising support and contributions from readers are what will keep this local news site going for many years to come. For those of you asking about the addition of a Paypal account to the site for contributions, it’s in the works. In the meantime, checks can be made out to Chelsea Update, and sent to 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118.

To those of you who have suggested stories that I haven’t gotten to yet, they will happen, I promise. Please understand that breaking news, meeting stories and time sensitive items leapfrog up the story food chain. There’s only one of me and tons of great story ideas from all of you. Please, continue to be patient, and keep sending and calling with suggestions. This is the community’s site and I consider it an honor to bring the news to you through words and photos.

This little community news venture has been everything I dreamed it might be when I decided to take this leap of faith in the community. Thank you for making my dreams come true … and then some.
