Mom and Dad are dancing to their favorite song “Yellow Bird” in Heaven, and dad waited for her a long time.

Mary Elizabeth (Bubsie, Nickie) Montange was born Dec. 8, 1919 and died peacefully April 17, 2014 in Allen, Texas. She was 94 years old and dear to all family and friends. Mary was the second daughter born to Clair Nicholson and Marie Nicholson in Denison, Iowa.

She always said that when she met and married Stanley Montange on Dec. 26, 1941, her life really began. She was the mother of seven children. She had a wonderful working and playing life on a farm in Chelsea since 1957.

While working the farm and raising children, she found time for a nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. However, the majority of her nursing career was at Chelsea Community Hospital, with the very last as a hospice nurse while Stan worked and retired from Chrysler Proving Grounds. The farm was a family career for both Stan and Nick and a great place to raise their family.
