Recent obituary: Glenn Weir

Weir_Glenn2Glenn G. Weir of Chelsea, age 76, died peacefully Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home with his family.

He was born Sept. 16, 1937 in Grindstone City, Mich., the son of Clive and Leila (Phair) Weir.

Glenn graduated from Chelsea High School in 1956 then attended Central Michigan University.  He served in the US Army from 1960-1962.

Glenn worked for the Dana Corporation for 32 years. Later, he worked at Hillside Terrace and Polly’s and delivered the Ann Arbor News. He was a member of the Jaycee’s, bowled for many years, and was a baseball/softball umpire for many years. Glenn taught Sunday School at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, then attended Immanuel Bible Church.

  1. Our condolences go out to the Weir family.
    I worked with Glenn for many years at Dana Corp. Glenn and
    Norm Wolfe worked together in assembly and would stamp
    their names on the metal tags as “Weir-Wolfe”. In the
    “old days” we used to have a lot of fun.
