Recent obituary: Paul Clark Hughes, Victor Arnold Ross Stevens

Paul Clark Hughes of Chelsea, age 65, passed away on Oct. 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1953 the son of Paul and Jean (Clark) Brisbois.

Paul married Arielle (Knapp) on December 3, 1976, and she survives along with their children Daniele (Harrison Niemann) Hughes, Trevor (Kathryn) Hughes. He is also survived by siblings Bryan (Thomma) Hughes, Robert (Leslie) Hughes, Angela (Herb) Blattenberger, Mark Brisbois, Scott Brisbois, and Karen Bornten; brother-in-law Lionel (Christine) Knapp; grandchildren Clay Hughes, and Logan McCormick; nieces and nephews Natalie Hughes, Charles Blattenberger, Katherine Hughes and Gaelle Netzer.

Also surviving is step-father Jerry Saalsaa. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Rose Clark, his adopted father Charles R. Hughes, his son Ian Hughes, and nephew Simon Knapp.

Funeral services will be held at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at 6 p.m. with Daniele Hughes officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m.

Victor Arnold Ross Stevens of Chelsea, age 86, passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018.

He was born in Detroit, MI on May 25, 1932, the son of Herbert W. and Mable (Bales) Stevens. On May 10, 1958 he married Shirley Ann Cruzen in Detroit, MI, and she survives.

Also surviving are his daughter Kerry Jayne (Christopher) Smyth of Manchester, two grandchildren Ross and Olivia Smyth, and one brother Harold (Mavis) Stevens of Livonia. He was preceded in death by four sisters Maisie Howard, Margaret Kaufmann, Felicity Lahti, Anne Kurtz, and one brother William Stevens.

Victor served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He then worked as an accountant for Ford Motor Company for 25 years, retiring in 1991. Victor had lived in Chelsea for the past year, but he had lived in Ann Arbor most of his life.

A Memorial Service celebrating Victor’s life will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea with Rev. Kathy Schell officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m.
