(Chelsea Update would like to thank Frank Hammer and the Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority for the information in this story.)

Like any celebrity figure, one never knows when or where Reggie will be sighted.

Last week, Reggie was seen riding and merrily waving to his fans, on the back of the sparkling clean WWRA Recycling truck in the Chelsea Fair Parade. He really likes seeing the smiles on the faces of kids, and helping everyone feel happy about the recycling that is happening in the community.

Over the past few months, Reggie has been seen in Manchester at the Klager Science and Math night fair; at the Senior Citizens Spring Expo; at the Saturday Farmers Market; and having fun at the Chelsea Fair. Each time, he finds kids who deserve a Reggie Recycling Ranger badge, and also gives out valuable information to interested adults.

This has all proven to be a great way to raise awareness of Reggie’s Royal Recycling Reminders, and of the importance of recycling to our community.

Reggie would love an invite to local community events or meetings. Please call WWRA at 475-6160 to discuss arrangements. He can come for a few minutes to meet and greet, or plan to stay a little longer with a helper who can give a short group-appropriate talk about WWRA and the modern recycling process.

Chelsea area non-profit or community groups are invited to arrange this as a service of WWRA.

Private groups (e.g., a child’s birthday party, or a store grand-opening) will be asked to make a small donation to WWRA, in order to off-set costs of printing things like the coloring book, badges, and other handouts.

Reggie’s Royal Recycling Review: Call WWRA if you would like to invite Reggie to come to your event.
