Sept. 2: apple season at the Wednesday Farmers Market

Pottery is among the items you can find at the Wednesday Farmers Market.

September has arrived and adds more reasons to come and visit the Chelsea Farmers Market this Wednesday.

Apples have arrived and are tart, sweet, and crunchy. You’ll still find some remaining fruits of summer including melons.

The choice of fresh vegetables available at the market abounds. You’ll find corn, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, carrots, squash, peppers, and more.

Fresh baked goods are available too such as cookies, cakes, and breads.

There will also be cheese, jam, honey, and granola.

Artisans will be selling jewelry, pottery, birdhouses, and more.

The market runs from 1-5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chelsea State Bank at the intersection of M-52 and Old US-12.

Vendors and shoppers are asked to follow market protocols by Chelsea Farmers Market Manager Emily Griswold.

If you have any signs of illness, please stay home.

Everyone is now required to wear a mask including vendors, volunteers, and market staff.

Everyone is asked to practice social distancing of 6-10 feet and not to linger.

Hand washing stations will be available, and there will be one-way pedestrian traffic to reduce congestion with one entrance and one exit.

Vendors will choose, assemble and bag items, and shoppers are asked not to touch or sample any product they are not buying.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to go to the market’s website: https://chelseafarmersmkt.org or to check for updates on social media.
