Sept. 24: SRSLY to host coalition meeting

srslylogoSRSLY invites all Chelsea residents to attend their first annual coalition meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the boardroom of the Washington Street Education Center.

If you’re new to the community or haven’t attended a coalition meeting in the past, this is a great way to learn about SRSLY and meet all of the great people involved. The group plans to unveil and discuss some exciting changes and dinner will be provided.

Since the formation of SRSLY in 2008, the community coalition has been evolving and shifting as new members join and bring exciting, fresh ideas to the way SRSLY approaches preventing destructive behavior in Chelsea youth. This year has been no exception.

Throughout the summer months, 30 dedicated coalition members formed a task force and worked collaboratively to re-evaluate and re-structure the way SRSLY functions.

The new school year brings new opportunities to improve communication, increase membership, and streamline the coalition meeting schedule. These organizational and structural changes will create a more fun, inclusive, and sustainable coalition with easier ways to get involved and more opportunities for leadership.

With new member opportunities and perks the coalition anticipates a greater impact on their mission and the surrounding community.

For more information about SRSLY or the upcoming meeting, contact Jesse Kauffman at (734) 593-5283.
