The Chelsea Theater Guild will hold audition for “Guys and Dolls” on both Monday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Director Carrie Jay Sayer says in a Facebook post, those interested can go to either audition.
Both auditions will take place from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the Chelsea High School Auditorium and you can sign-in at the drama room.
Callbacks will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. And, she says even if you weren’t called back, that doesn’t mean you did not make the cast.
A cast list will be posted on both Facebook and the theater guild website on Thursday night and at the high school on Friday morning.
The first rehearsal is Friday, Sept. 13 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the high school drama room.
Those planning to audition are asked to dress professionally. “Dress up, in clothes you can also move in,” Sayer says.
Bring sheet music and prepare 16 bars of a musical theater song, and of course, songs from the show are fine.
An accompanist will be provided.
There will be cold readings from the script, and be ready for action.
“Expect to play hard, try new things, take risks, and be wild and crazy,” she says.
