The Washtenaw County Road Commission now has a plow that was decorated by South Meadows Elementary School students.

Last week, Mrs. Bates’ 4th grade class at South Meadows painted a plow.

At the event were Emily Kizer, Paul Schneider, the Road Commission district foreman and Brian Trinkle, the Road Commission district group leader.

The class also learned about what the Road Commission does and the important role it plays in the winter.

Each student got to climb up in the truck and check it out.

The plow design was a collaboration of two student’s designs and will be used this winter in the Chelsea-area and in parades or other events.

It is currently displayed at the yard on Middle Street.
