SRSLY is sponsoring another session of “Guiding Good Choices” that begins Feb. 25 and runs for five weeks on Monday mornings from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Chelsea District Library.
The classes are free for parents or caregivers of children ages 9 –14. This program is based in years of research and has been proven to:
• Improve parenting skills and parent-child interactions.
• Reduce adolescent substance abuse
• Reduce adolescent depressive symptoms.
• Reduce rates of self-harm by teens.
Please register by calling the library at 475-8732.
(For the record, I am a member of the SRSLY board.)
This program is highly recommended by local public health officials, specifically those who are a part of the Livingston/Washtenaw Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency.
