Transition Town Chelsea kicks off fall movie series Friday

Transition Town Chelsea will hold its first of a series of fall films, titled “Down to Earth” on Friday, Oct. 26 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Chelsea Senior Center, 512 E. Washington St.

The upcoming films will look at “our life-sustaining physical resources,” according to information about the series.

Here’s a flyer Down_to_Earth_2 for the event.

After examining “the abstractions of money systems” in the summer film series, the group will “come back to the physical level,” the information states, and look at “energy, water, soil, and issues related to physical resources.”

The group will delve into “how are we humans going to deal with the prospects of long-term depletion, costs, choices, and impact to a finite Earth?”

Following the film, there will be a discussion and the event runs from 7-9 p.m.
