Walberg votes in favor of ‘No Budget, No Pay’ Act

Tim Walberg

Congressman Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 325, the “No Budget, No Pay Act,” on Jan. 23, which requires both the House and Senate to pass a budget within the next three months, or Congress members won’t get paid.

“The Senate needs to be held accountable for not passing a budget in almost four years, because that’s hard-working taxpayer dollars they’re dealing with,” he said in a press release.

“Families and small business owners work within a budget and it’s only fair that they expect their government to do the same,” he said.

House Republicans have twice passed a budget to address the mounting debt and promote a healthy economy, Walberg said, adding, “Our goal is to advance a budget that balances within 10 years.”

“The Senate needs to join us in affirming that Congress should not be paid until they’ve accomplished the simple task of passing a budget, and realizing that our country cannot solve its debt crisis until their government stops spending beyond its means,” Walberg said in the press release.

  1. Good start,Tim Walberg. Just a reminder: the Pentagon represents 39 cents of every dollar collected from us, yet it has NEVER been audited. The GAO says it is IMPOSSIBLE to audit the Pentagon because of multiple, incompatible computer
systems. Prominent military brass have complained of recurrent waste and cost overruns over there. How about a fiscally conservative approach to our bloated military?
