Chelsea Kiwanis Club gearing up for ice cream social at South Meadows

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt and Keegan Sulecki for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club will not meet on Memorial Day.

Members are looking forward to the upcoming Ice Cream Social at South Meadows Elementary on June 8, where they will be serving from their food concession trailer.

Head of Information Services Keegan Sulecki and Youth and Teen Librarian Jessica Zubik visited the club meeting last Monday and talked about the Summer Reading Program (Kickoff is on June 14 from 12-2 p.m.)

They described some of the highlights listed in their Summer 2018 Newsletter. Some of us were surprised to learn that many devices like scanners to digitize documents and slides are available to check out.

The club continues to support the Summer Reading Program to prevent “Summer Slide” in student’s reading skills.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
