Chinese Tonite, the restaurant located at 1127 South Main St., may look the same from the outside, but changes are taking place within including a new owner.

Ming Lin took over as owner on Jan. 1, and since then he has been making changes and improvements to the restaurant’s interior.

“We are updating the carpet and tables and getting new walls in the kitchen,” said Lin. “We’re still using the old menu but will be making some changes to the menu soon.”

Lin’s uncle worked for the previous owners of Chinese Tonite, and with help from other members of his family, Lin says that he is pleased to be the new owner of Chinese Tonite.

“We are making changes little by little,” he said. “People here are very nice.”

Chinese Tonite has a large menu that includes Mandarin, Szechuan and Hunan cuisine. It includes vegetarian dishes and a large selection of lunch specials.
