(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club will hear from Matt Pedlow, teacher and coach at Chelsea High School. He leads a group of students on an enriching tour of the Gettysburg  battlefield every year, delving deep into the history of the Civil War at a preserved location.

Last week, the club heard from the Chelsea area Girl Scouts. There are 19 troops and 150 girls involved in Chelsea. Service performed by the girls will be a food drive for Faith in Action, greeting cards for our soldiers overseas, and Pierce and Veterans Park clean-ups. Fun activities include a trip to Mackinac island, camping, and a run through a corn maze.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
